Coaches/Coordinators,

We are looking forward to the 2018 BYL Boys Grade5/6 Jamboree on Sunday, Apr 29!  Below I have enclosed several items including a game schedule and site map.  First games for Group 1 start at 9am and first games for Group 2 start at 1pm.

The Jamboree will take place at Walsh Middle School at 185 Damascus Rd, Branford.  Please pass all this information on to parents and players.  All of this information will be posted on the BYL website (www.branfordyouthlax.com) as well in case you lose the email.

Additionally, if you have not done so already, please have your COI sent by email and payments mailed (per instructions separately emailed).

Some relevant info:

* Teams are welcome to set up tents in various areas of the venue, though NO grills are allowed.

* A pizza truck will be at the site and serving food through the day (starting around 10:30am)

* There will be a t-shirt vendor with custom designs.

Game Rules/Guidelines:

All games will be 25 minutes running time. They will start on the hour and half hour.  At 25 minutes past the hour and 55 minutes past the hour, a long horn will blow to signal the end of those games.  Teams then have ~5 minutes to get on to the fields to start the next games.  The referees will start the games when the teams are ready to play.  If you are ready, you'll get a full 25 minute game.  If you're not ready in time, your game might be less than 25 minutes, because it ends when that horn blows.

Standard CONNY rules for Juniors will apply for all games.  For penalties, we will do time serving just like regular games.  However, each team’s coaches will be responsible to keep those penalty times during their games.  For Juniors, body checking is NOT allowed. However, permitted body contact includes:

-       Legal holds

-       Legal pushes

-       Boxing out to gain a ground ball

-       Defensive positioning to redirect/drive out an opponent in possession of the ball

There will be 1 certified referee per game.  I am familiar with each referee and they are all very experienced, high quality professionals.

If any questions, issues, problems arise during the day, please go to the BYL tent to address them.  If you cannot locate somebody to address the relevant issue, please call or text Niall Ferguson (who will be on site) at 203-823-8147.

Please arrive with sufficient lead time before your first game to be ready to play.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Best regards,

BYL
